Out of Alaska and into the Yukon

Martin was a little sad to leave Alaska. ;)

And into the Yukon.
We started out later than we thought on Thursday evening. We ended up camping close to town. As we left town we shared memories of visiting family in eagle river, ice climbing in elklutna and rock climbing in hatcher pass. It wasn't easy to leave.

On day two we stopped at the Tetlin wildlife refuge outside of Tok. We saw our first wild horse! Martin has been excited about fishing, so we've been stopping to fish every once in a while. We stretched our legs to fish at a quiet lake called "hidden lake", which provided us with a free boat and yummy rainbow trout!

Day three we headed to kluane national park where we did some hiking. We spent the day hiking "kings throne". Nice jaunt with an 1,800 foot elevation gain. We spent that night by Kathleen river and today we are doing the tourist thing in Whitehorse. We stopped at takhini hotsprings, which finally warmed me up! And we spent three hours at the MacBride museum which had alot of history on the Yukon. Tonight we are heading to the Yukon Brewery.

So far weather has been good and we are still adjusting to "van life". There is alot of "where is this, where is that?" the border crossing went super smooth- we didn't have to unpack anything!I can't upload picturea on my phone- so I will need to upload later.

Tomorrow we head for the Cassier Highway.

Hiking up to The Kings Throne in Kluane National Park.

Camping by Kluane Lake, which proved to be VERY windy in the morning.
